Roseville's Power Flex Program
Power Flex is a voluntary program for Roseville Electric Utility residential electric customers with qualifying smart thermostats to ease energy demand without sacrificing comfort.
When summer temperatures climb, demand for electricity increases which can cause strain on the grid. Roseville’s Power Flex program is designed to help reduce energy use during times of high energy demand. That’s good for the environment, and it helps keep energy costs low for everyone.
Participants agree to brief adjustments of 4 degrees or less to their thermostats during periods of peak energy demand from May through September of each year. Adjustments to your thermostat will last no more than 4 hours.
Adjustments will occur between 6 am – 10 pm PDT.
Participants will receive a one-time “enrollment incentive” $25 bill credit after successfully enrolling in the program.
Participants accepted into the program between January 1st and September 30th are eligible for an “annual participation incentive” $25 credit in November of that year. Participants who remain in the program will receive the annual participation incentive each following year.
Participants accepted into the program between October 1st and December 31st are not eligible for the annual participation incentive $25 credit in November of that year. Participants who remain in the program will receive the annual participation incentive each following year.
Participants must be currently enrolled in the program on November 1st of each year to receive the annual participation incentive.
The enrollment incentive and the annual participation incentive are limited to one per household.
Roseville Electric Utility may activate the Power Flex program outside of normal hours during grid emergencies.
To be eligible to enroll, you must:
Be an active Roseville Electric Utility residential electric customer with electric service in your name.
Use a qualified internet-connected smart thermostat.
Allow the program to make brief, small thermostat adjustments on days of high energy demand.
Roseville Electric Utility reserves the right to limit the maximum number of customers that are enrolled in the Power Flex program. Customers are not guaranteed a right to participate in the program.
The purchase of a smart thermostat does not guarantee participation in the program.
Within 90 days of enrolling in the Power Flex program, you will receive a $25 bill credit on your utility statement.
After your enrollment in the program, you will receive one $25 bill credit each year that you remain enrolled.
