If you are a Consumers Energy residential electric customer with a qualifying Wi-Fi-connected thermostat for cooling, you can receive a $50 virtual prepaid Mastercard® for enrolling in the Smart Thermostat Program. Plus, you get an additional $25 Prepaid Mastercard after each summer season you participate in the program. Let's work together to help reduce our energy use when it matters most.

From June 1 through August 31, on days when energy demand is at its highest, you allow your enrolled thermostat to automatically adjust 2-3 degrees from your preferred settings during an Energy Savings Event. Events typically occur on non-holiday weekdays, and last no more than 4 hours at a time. You can opt out of Events at any time from your mobile device, web browser or thermostat.
